I find computer programs like Poser and Blender to be incredibly fun. Unfortunately, that stuff didn't exist in the pre-internet days when I was in public school.
I might not mind a blog that is free, ready-made, with minimal setup. Some examples are Blogger, WordPress.com (not .org the self-hosted thing) etc..
It's because I'm not much into blogs and so I'm not as obsessed with the web development aspect.
A lot of people want success status, but all anyone needs is modest food, shelter, and clothing. Sadly, many can't even reach a modest level (the homeless etc.).
In my 6th grade, it was 1989 and there was no internet, just computer class teaching probably Visual Basic.
And computers were NOT cool then to most people.
If I came into money then I'd do the following.
Keep it secret from friends and family.
Give 10 percent to God.
Pay off ALL debt
Buy a modest car and home.
Invest heavily but wisely in web development projects.
Invest a little into music and art hobbies.
Travel by car, exploring interesting US...
As one example, the times are way different in the past then now, and to be honest, to truly be PC, Washington DC would be renamed or maybe Little Caesar's Pizza. :D
