Hot Topics/Debates Should social media platforms regulate misinformation more strictly?

Strict regulation of misinformation on social media is a complicated issue. On one hand, unchecked false claims can mislead millions, damage public safety, and influence elections. On the other, stricter controls raise concerns about censorship and bias.

In my opinion, they ought to as a matter of urgency. False information travels quickly and soon enough, a large population of people accept it especially if the channel is social media. Billions of people visit that site in a day. The right time to act is now.

I think they should honestly. Because Misinformation spreads so fast and causes real harm affecting elections, public health, and people's safety. But it's tricky because who decides what's "misinformation" versus legitimate debate?
