General What makes you to lose motivation to complete a particular task?

Have you ever had tasks that you had given up on halfway through the tasks? Probably you started the task with so much enthusiasm and lost motivation along the way. What typically makes you lose motivation to complete a particular task?

The problem is that everything in beginning seems as new concept. However with routine and repetition of same tasks you get demotivated.

Whenever I am overwhelmed, I lose motivation. Once task feels too big, my energy drops real quick. I remembered opening laptop, seeing too much to do, I closed it immediately. Breaking tasks into smaller ones helps a lot.
