Music What is your favourite decade for music?

I actually really got to appreciate music more as a teenager. And I would say that the decade I have enjoyed music the most was the period from 2000 to 2010. That's when hip hop had it's golden era with acts like Lil Wayne, Rick Ross etc, and RnB was dominated by acts such as Bruno Mars, Neyo, Usher et all.

I am more into Bollywood music. And I think that songs of 70's and early 80's were the best. This was the Golden era of music with some really good meaningful music and sensible lyrics. They are timeless classics and have stayed popular for generations. Even now they are popular.

It was the 80s for me. I used to so enjoyed music at it finest devoid of too much lewd lyrics but now it seems sex sells more

As I have mentioned above that my favourite Era is 70s and 80s. Most of the songs made during that period were timeless classics and they have stayed that way for generations now. Having said that I would say that in the last few years, I have noticed that the quality of songs here is improving. I can not say that as a general statement, but yes, few music people be it composers, lyricists and singers are doing really outstanding job and bringing in some soulful numbers. I stay hopeful that the tribe would keep growing and they will bring back the golden Era of music in coming times.

The early 2000s spanning year 2000 to year 2010 was the best decade of music for me. That's the time that we had Beyoncé, Shakira, Drake, Lil Wayne, Rihanna burst into the mainstream music scene.

The 90s and early 2000s are the best for me. At that time, the musical world wasn't as saturated as what we have today. We could pinpoint each artist hearing their track. Nowadays music tends to blend but in that period each artist carried a distinct style. From Westlife to 2Face to Celine Dion to classic hip-hop. I mean, those tunes had substance. I would really love to see that return to the music industry.
