Honestly most of my favorite games are older ones.
My favorite game series of all time is Lunar which was originally for Sega CD. I've pretty much owned every version of any of the games that made its way to the US.
In the 80s I was a child and had an Atari. I liked Pitfall Harry (a game like Mario etc.) and Pole Position (a racing game). They were loads of fun and proof an advanced game isn't necessary to be fun.
That PS2 era still remain the GOAT for me. Nothing ever beat those long afternoons playing GTA San Andreas, PES 2010, or SmackDown vs Raw with my cousins. We even argue over who is the better striker, then still eat rice together like nothing happened.
