Most mammals that live in forests have heightened senses of smell and hearing, so they will know when you’re coming into the forest long before you get a chance to see them.

One way to see wildlife is take a shower with a descenting soap and wash your clothes with a descenting detergent. You can get these at most sporting goods stores, and they don’t cost very much if you buy them well outside of deer season in most states.

Really? I didn't know that, I just found out. Thank you so much for letting us know. I'm honestly very happy that they're increasing; the worst that can happen is that they decrease or become extinct, right?

Most of them also have very sensitive hearing as well. This is nature's way of ensuring their safety or simply put they have survival instincts.
