The Admin Hub Is a political and/or religious debate section bad for business?

Politics and religion can bring in controversy. People can easily get personal and resort to name calling while discussing on these topics. However, I am working on a forum that will be exclusively marketed as religious and political forum.

Yes, it's bad for business as I have seen it stir up troubles in many organisations. A lot of people take politics and religions issues very personal and just a little argument can turn into a big war. I don't engage in such arguments.

My former theology blog/forum wasn't commercial and politics, religion was strongly encouraged. I purposely had it on free speech hosting so people could say what they want (aside from being rude etc.).

And my other sites are on this hosting also.

What are the plans that you have towards ensuring that these challenges that you just mentioned don't end up destroying the progress that the new forum will make?

I will create rules that forbid people to get personal, racial, or abusive. I will be enforcing rules strictly. For a while, I will also run as a close community, which means only invited members can participate.

I think a political or religious debate section can be risky for business since it often leads to heated arguments and disagreements. It might turn off some customers or visitors who prefer a more neutral space.
