Those who are workaholics find it very difficult to pause and take break from work. They normally feel taking a break is wasting time they should have been productive with but in reality, it's not always true.

If a worker doesn't take break, they break down which stops them from working until they are in good shape to work again.

How do you make sure you’re taking breaks during work?

I work from home, and as much as I try to take regular breaks, if I get really busy, I can often forget to take breaks and that leads to me sitting for hours sometimes.

I do want to start setting alarms to prompt me to get up and take a break regularly as I feel that will help me a great deal, especially with how I feel.

I always make sure to take my two 15 minute breaks as well as my 30 minute lunch. I start to get super hungry before lunch and I also like to have a snack on my 15 minute breaks. I also don't like having to use the bathroom when I'm productive, unless it's an emergency. I usually wait until my last break to go to the bathroom.

I do make sure to take breaks at work because I’ve learned that I’m a lot more focused when I step away for a few minutes. Even a short walk or grabbing some water helps me reset and not feel overwhelmed. It’s easy to forget to pause when things get busy.

In the past, I used to work for 6-7 hours straights without any breaks, except for bathrooms. However, these days I work in short shifts, I work 2-3 hours take a 1-2 hours break and then sit to work again, for 2-3 hours.

I don't compromise my break for any reason whatsoever at work. I don't care if the office is burning down, once it's my break, nothing will take me off it. Even if they have a meeting and it's fixed during my break time, I won't attend the meeting.
