MusicAre Music Genres Blending So Much That They’re Losing Identity?
A lot of Nlnew tracks mix rap, EDM, rock, and pop into one sound. Do you thibks this is the evolution of music or do yiu see as a dilution? Do you want genre soecufic music or do you want hybrid music that blends muktiple genres? Which hybrid song do you think is good and is the music you disliked because it blends multiple genres? Do you think clear genre lines still matter when discovering new artists?
From all these music genres I only enjoy rock style. It is my own preference but others aren't so bad but they aren't in my top preferences I hear from time to time.
No, in fact it's the best thing that can happen, because based on that new musical genres can be invented; all the musical genres we know are fusions of other musical genres, so it's normal
I don't think music genres are losing identity by collaborating with each other. I think they are breaking into new markets when two genres are blended together. For instance, I am a core RNB lover. But I started appreciating and loving rap music because of rap artists collaborating with RNB singers.
Genre blending is very common these days, I don't know whether they are trying to attract all sorts of audience or just cannot stick to the genre that are comfortable. I also think these days most people care less about genre.
Genre blending is always a progressive part of music. I mean, regarding Western music, for instance, Steely Dan and Chicago blended jazz and rock and Red Hot Chili Peppers blended funk and metal.
