Animal Kingdom Would you ever have a pet tarantula?

Believe it or not people actually keep tarantulas as pets! I don't like spiders so I would never get a pet tarantula. I remember watching Rugrats as a kid and there's an episode where Spike goes missing so Stu gets Tommy a tarantula but pops ends up smooshing it . Anyways would you like to have a tarantula as a pet?

I don't like seeing tarantula in my house. The day that thing escapes, i was so annoyed.. I can manage a cat or even a goat but a spider? That's a big no. I don't even like to see the small ones in my room.

It’s very unlikely. I watched one documentary once and they’re calm. Imagine explaining to visitors why spider is inside a cage. I'll just admire them from afar. Pets should reduce stress, not add some suspense.

I have a huge fear of spiders, and tarantulas are just a big no from me. I always remember my brother mentioning to my parents that he would like a pet tarantula, and my mum shut that down before anything could happen.

I have neighbours a few doors down who have pet snakes and tarantulas, and as long as they keep them secure, I am happy.
