It depends. A lot of us come on at different times.
You may find that in most cases, some times are busier than others. I have been known to come on and always be the only one online.
I have gotten used to it, with forums, the great thing is you can have conversations, and it doesn't matter how long before the next response

My thoughts exactly. Heck I have days where I go on my forum and I'm the only one online. It happens to everyone who owns a forum
Part of it is probably we all live in different time zones too. Also depends on the days. You get busy days and you get slower ones.
