General Long Distance Relationships

I've been in one for three years now - but we do at least live in the same country, so we get to see each other once or twice a month. 

I was previously in one with someone who wasn't even in the same country as me, so we couldn't see each other at all - and that just didn't work!

Yes, I do believe they work. My parents were long distance back in the late 60's/early 70's. My mom here in Michigan and dad was in Iraq. They were pen pals for like 8 or 9 years and then my mom was like I am gonna go visit my dad and that was the 1st time they ever met in real life and a few days later after she got there they were married on August 8th 1971 and were still married when my mother passed away on October 6th 2012. They had 3 kids (my 2 oldest brothers and myself). Dad still lives in my childhood home as well. 

I mean now a days you have Facetime, text messages and a lot of other ways of staying connected as well and like Catsmother said it can work if the two people are willing to work at it. Relationships are hard work in general but the two people have to be willing to put the time and effort into making it work.

My honey lives approximately 240 miles away and we've been together 17 years and counting. We speak on the phone every night and vacation together. It works for us.

I am in a long-distance relationship and September 2024 will have been 10 years together. I live in England, UK and he lives in New York, USA, so a big distance. 

We would have met already but due to issues, the pandemic and now the cost of living, that has not happened yet but we hope to meet soon

I am a firm believer that long-distance relationships can work if you are both willing to work to make them work

I've tried having a long distance relationship in the past, however it didn't work out. I'm a person who needs physical touch, and that's the main reason why it just didn't work out. I also believe that I was catfished in the past too, I never did figure out who catfished me...

I am married to someone I met online, so I would say that they can work!
