For as long as I can remember, I've seen the 1997 Titanic movie on TV, presented as if it were an incredible film. But is it really? Is it really as good a movie as they say? Or is it terribly overrated? I want to read your opinions on this and hear if it's overrated or not.
The making is very good, it has a good presentation as well but movie in itself is not very good. It has nothing to show except how big was Titanic and how it sank. For me it is overrated.
I've been saying this! Titanic is good but people overhyped it too much. I watched it for the first time on CD in my cousin’s house. The story touched me, but the 3 hours is too long. The ship sinking scenes were crazy though.
Honestly, I watched this movie when I was still a kid but from the little memory I have of it, I believe that it was a good romantic movie which had a tragic ending. I do need to watch it again to know if my perception would change about it.
Honestly, I think it deserves respect. For its time, it was crazy. I rewatched it recently and some parts dragged but the emotion still landed. The music alone is good. Some people just like calling old popular movies overrated. It's not flawless but it earned its place.
Totally overrated. Story of a woman who decided to have a side adventure while she was engaged. Hoe behavior to me. I think the movie promotes bad things and the true victim in the movie was the guy who was supposed to marry her. But as a smart guy, he got his way out.
Honestly I think it's a bit overrated myself. I used to laugh at the scene after Jack passes away and Rose tries to yell out to the search team but she can't. I don't know why I found this so funny as a kid but I did. My wife loves this movie, I haven't watched it since I was a kid and honestly I probably won't watch it again unless my wife really wants to watch it with me.
