Life & HealthIs it wrong to compare your progress with your age mates?
Some people say that the most common cause of depression is comparing one's self with their age mates. They see it as the person doing the comparison putting pressure on themselves.
Do you think it is totally wrong to compare yourself with your contemporaries? At which point is comparing yourself to other people your age healthy?
Everyone in life has his or her own path to navigate. And the path that other of your mates navigate might not be the same path that you have to navigate. Having to compare yourself with your mates might distract you from your own path. Just stay on your lane and leave comparison as long as you are making some progress in life.
Everyone has a pace in which they grow. It is not a good thing to compare yourself to others. Your path might be different from that if your mates which is why I always advice that you focus on your own growth level so as to avoid loosing your focus. You can't afford to climb the ladder of success if you keep comparing yourself to others negatively. Positive comparison is ideal and impactful.
