Do you think there's any number of pet animals someone would keep and it's going to be considered as being too much? I know someone who's currently keeping 10 dogs in my neighbourhood. As long as he's taking good care of them, it's not a problem.
In my opinion it depends on your housing conditions and your capacity to provide care. Personally, having more than 2-3 would be overwhelming for me. However I've noticed that those with spaces manage 5 or more pets quite well.
It depends on the person involved and the space. If you can manage 3–4 pets with proper food, play and care, it’s all good. But 10+ animals in one house would be a very stressful thing.
I believe it’s not really the quantity. Whether you’re able to properly look after all of them. If you can’t devote time to cover their expenses or maintain cleanliness in your home then you can't have many pets.
People can be pet freaks, and that is fine as long as they can take care of them. I know an uncle that has about 4 different animals as pets, but he takes care of all of them.
