The Wired HubHave you noticed how fast social media platforms keep changing their algorithms?
I've totally noticed and honestly it's kind of annoying. Like one day you are seeing stuff from people you actually follow then suddenly it's all random content and ads everywhere. They claim it improves the experience but does it really? I feel like I'm seeing less of what I actually want and more of what they want to push on me. Sometimes the changes are decent.. they'll hide spam or make things cleaner but mostly it feels like they are just tinkering to make more money.
Have you noticed how different your feed is compared to a few months ago? I think most people just adjust and move on but wouldn't it be nice if they actually listened to what users want instead of constantly reshuffling everything?
Yes, and honestly, it doesn't surprise me, since so many people use it and the number of users is constantly growing. Clearly, they need to keep updating their algorithm, otherwise they'll become useless in a short time.
I do a lot of social media marketing. I make money from social media, too.
I pay close attention to algorithm changes and differences. I can tell when it changes before it's announced by all the gurus trying to sell me their services.
