Has Streaming Made Mid-Budget Movies More Interesting Than Blockbusters?

Some of the most talked-about films lately come from mid-range budgets rather than giant franchises. Are filmmakers more creative with fewer constraints? Which mid-budget movie did you watch recently, did you like it, was is better than big budget? Do you think theaters will embrace them again?

I genuinely think mid-budget films often give filmmakers way more creative freedom because they are not trapped under the weight of studio expectations demanding massive box office returns. When you are not making a $200 million blockbuster there's less pressure to play it safe, appeal to everyone and follow tired formulas. Directors and writers can actually take risks and tell the stories they want to tell.

I recently watched "Everything Everywhere All at Once" and it completely blew me away. The storytelling was absolutely incredible and it was made on what's considered a reasonable budget in Hollywood terms nothing close to those giant franchise numbers.

I think these days mid budget movies are more interesting than those big banner and star studded movies. The big budget movies are focusing on CGI, and there is a less focus on character development and story.
