This is one of the traditions in the Philippines. Every eve of Christmas, the families never sleep before the Noche Buena, which occurs at 12 midnight. We have to eat twice in the evening. In the Noche Buena, different kinds of foods are displayed on the dining table as a symbol of thanks to God, on the birthday of Jesus Christ. We are having our Thanksgiving. At home, we prepare every Noche Buena beef stew, beef steak, deep-fried chicken, cake, ice cream, different kinds of salads, fish escabeche, and red wine. We toast after taking the Noche Buena.
Though we don't celebrate this over here, but during the Christmas eve, the whole place is usually extremely busy with various parties and celebrations.
