General How Do You Measure Growth Without Comparing Yourself?

It’s tempting to compare progress with others, even when you know it’s not helpful. How do you track your growth in a way that’s personal and fair to your own journey? How do you actually measure your growth without comparing with someone else?

Set your own goals that are specific to your own journey and condition. Track how far you have gone by that your own set goals. Understand within yourself that everyone's journey is not the same same. And you are on your own journey and you would definitely get to your destination at your own time. With that in mind, you won't be comparing yourself with others.

I try to compare myself to who I was last year or even last month not to other people. Everyone's journey is different with different starting points so measuring against your own past self is the only fair comparison really.

You can do that by simply comparing yourself to yourself and not with others. There should be a goal set for yourself, use that to compare your personal growth each year.
How do you do that? I mean how do you compare yourself with yourself? Even if you are able to do it, how do you make sure you are not too judgemental. We need a mirror to see ourself, how can we see and judge ourself?

Judging yourself is different from making an unbiased comparison. For example, if I set some goals to meet 2054, by the end of year, I'll compare what I've been able to do. Next year 2026, I'll set a new goal in contrast with what I had in 2025 and try to make it happen.
