My lifestyle doesn’t change much with wealth. I’m still on the same budget personally as a decade ago. My taxes have gone up. I still drive the same car. I buy a computer from time to time. My utilities fluctuate. Still, I live how I want to live most of the time. If I had a billion dollars, I would change a few things, but not all. I’d continue to work to retirement (I’m pretty close anyway) and probably live where I live now to keep my kids in the same school. I’d probably travel a little more to see friends, see all the movies I want to see when I want to see them, and work on my physique a bit more.
This actually shows your level of maturity and discipline. Growing in wealth doesn't always mean you need to completely change your lifestyle. My goal is to also grow in wealth and still be me, not changing who i am for anyone or anything.
There is absolutely no need trying to push up your lifestyle because your income increased. As far as you are living a life that is comfortable for you, and you are not stressing yourself unnecessarily, you are living fine, even without showing luxury.
Honestly, I feel this. Some people just want peace and good food, no noise. Money just removes stress, it doesn’t force you to start living a loud life. If I'm stinkingly rich, I’ll still eat akara and bread at that local restaurant down the street. Living a simple life is gold.
For me, wealth would definitely change my lifestyle. I’d buy more convenience, travel more often, upgrade my daily routines, and worry less about small expenses. I think extra money would shift how I spend my time and energy, even if my values stay the same. Wealth always brings some level of change.
That's such a grounded and mature perspective honestly.Because Most people fantasize about how they'd completely transform their entire life if they suddenly had a billion dollars buying mansions, luxury cars, quitting their jobs immediately, moving somewhere exotic. But you're focused on what actually matters in real life. keeping stability for your kids so they don't get uprooted from their school and friends, having meaningful experiences with the people you care about and taking better care of your health.
